| Why Insure Your Cargo With An Israeli Company? |
| 1. |
Should your goods be damaged in transit, the fastest and most efficient claim service will be provided by the home company in Israel.
| 2. |
Our vast experience in handling this type of insurance demonstrates that it is best for you to insure your goods for their actual replacement value in Israel. One must consider what it would cost to repair goods in Israel, if they were damaged. Insurance coverage should include the cost of the item plus the cost of the transportation expenses, customs, purchase tax, and V.A.T. (Value Added Tax).
| 3. |
Should you insure your goods with a non-Israeli company, the value would be determined by that country's currency, which in case of a claim, would result in lower benefits for the following reasons:
| a. |
Customs Authorities do not permit spare parts of goods damaged en route to be imported duty free.
| b. | Repairs of goods damaged en route are very expensive in Israel, in comparison with their value abroad. | |
The Marine and/or Air Policy we offer you covers All Risk of physical loss or damage to the property insured from any external cause, as per current L.I.C.C. (London Institute Cargo Clause), or London Institute Air Cargo Clauses (A.R.), as applicable. The property insured is covered from the time that the first item enters the custody of the export shipping company or when the shipment is taken from your home. The coverage continues until the entire shipment has arrived at the first place of destination in Israel provided, however, that the goods are delivered within the normal period for such transit.
