General Information - conditions and exclusions

1. Always act as if you were uninsured and take all the necessary precautions to protect your goods. You must use the services of a reliable moving company, and make sure that your goods are professionally and adequately packed and properly entered on the mover's packing list.
It is advisable that you be present at the time your lift/container is being packed and sealed to make sure that all your goods have been packed into it. Should your lift/container arrive at the port of destination with its seals broken or showing signs of having been tampered with, it should not be released and you must notify the insurer immediately.

2. The Marine and/or Air Insurance Policy requires that the goods be insured for their actual replacement value in the country of destination. It is best for you to insure your goods for their actual value in Israel, which includes the cost price, transportation expenses, customs, purchase tax and V.A.T. When goods are insured for less than their actual value in Israel, in case of a claim, Reimbursement will be awarded proportional to the value at which the goods were insured and there will be no sufficient insurance coverage to pay for the cost of replacement or repair.

3. Valuables - Coverage of valuables depends on the item itself and the type of Policy. Any valuables such as fine art objects, paintings and prints, antiques, silver and gold articles, furs, rugs, carpets, etc., require appraisals, adequate care and your special awareness and attention. It is necessary for you to contact us beforehand to discuss the handling and coverage of your valuables.

4. Pianos and organs must be professionally and individually packed and crated. You should obtain a "certificate of condition", stating the condition of the piano or the organ at the time of packing, noting all defects. This certificate must be signed by both you and the packer/mover. The insurance coverage of these items may be subject to a deductable.

Warehouse Coverage, Additions and Extensions
In order to meet the needs of Olim and of those returning to Israel, we have designed a policy which best suits their needs.
A standard, All Risk Policy does not cover damages to cargo from war, strikes, riots and civil commotion. We, however, provide your cargo with this necessary coverage, at no extra charge.

DURATION OF TRANSIT CLAUSE

Subject to the Issuance Date mentioned in the policy, coverage attaches from the time the household goods and personal effects are being professionally packed and picked up at the residence or business location of the insured for the commencement of the transit and continues during the ordinary course of transit, including customary transshipment, if any, until the insured property is delivered to the first destination after discharge but not later than 60 days after discharge from the carrying Vessel/Airplane at final port of discharge.
The policy includes storage coverage for up to
60 days prior to the goods being loaded onto ship or plane but only if and while stored in the export forwarder's warehouse, Port or any bonded warehouse and against the following risks ONLY: Fire, Water Damage and Burglary.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, all new purchases are covered only after warehoused by packer/shipper, and not in transit from the retailer

Split Shipment Split...
If you have separate shipments, such as one by air and one by sea or a shipment which is to remain in storage temporarily, at the moving company's warehouse or at the Jewish Agency's warehouse, it is necessary to submit a separate list and a cumulative form for each such shipment. In such cases you require two separate Policies.

Discounts
Additional costs of registration, Policy fee, stamps and Value Added Tax amounting to 40% of the total premium, are absorbed by our company as a special discount to our clients.

Confidentiality
Be assured that all information included in your Policy of insurance is held in the strictest confidence by us.

Applying for Marine/Air Insurance
In order to obtain adequate insurance coverage for your shipment, it is necessary that you submit to us the following documents:
1. Cumulative form - Inventory list which you can obtain from the moving company or from our office - it is required that you list the goods to be insured in detail and indicate the quantities, the cost price (market value according to the condition of the item) and the value for insurance, which is the cost of replacement in Israel. The more detailed the inventory list, the better it is.

2. Appraisal documentation for those valuables which require appraisal.

3. DO NOT SEND US ANY PURCHASE BILLS.
Purchase Bills should remain with you at all times, you will have to submit them at customs, on your arrival to Israel and in case of a claim, to the insurance surveyor.

PLEASE SEND ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION TO REVIVIM'S OFFICES, AT LEAST TWO WEEKS BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE DATE, IN ORDER FOR US TO PROCESS YOUR POLICY.
Determining The Value For Insurance
It is necessary that goods be insured according to their value in Israel. You may contact our office and we will try to furnish you with the figures. However, if exact values cannot be determined, you can use the following formula, which will bring the values as close as possible to the values in Israel.

Electrical appliances = Value in the U.S X 2
Furniture, Kitchenware, Clothing etc. = Value in the U.S X 2
Books, Records, Pictures = Value in the U.S X 1.5

We must emphasize that these calculations are for references only and are NOT the exact proportion of the replacement value in Israel. You can of course determine your own formula, but BE AWARE NOT TO UNDER INSURE YOUR SHIPMENT.

Insurance Rates
As previously mentioned, it is beneficial for you to contact Revivim in order to discuss your shipment. We can then recommend to you the best insurance coverage for your shipment, depending upon your needs. We can offer you full or limited coverage, a policy with or without deductible, etc., and the cost of insurance will be calculated according to the type of policy you select.
